If you are looking for the best resort in Sedona, then look no further. Mii Amo Resort and Spa is without a doubt the best resort not only in Sedona, but likely one of the best you will stay in around the entire United States.
At least, Travel & Leisure think so.
If you want to stay somewhere that is budget-friendly, this isn’t it.
But if you are happy to splash out a little bit to enjoy high-quality and unique spa services, stunning views of Boynton Canyon, comfortable rooms, insanely delicious food, and the absolute best service in the state of Arizona, then you should absolutely book a stay at Mii Amo.
Staying at Mii Amo Sedona: The Basics
When you stay at Mii Amo, you have to book either a 3, 4 or 10 day package. This is not the sort of Sedona resort where you can simply book only one or two nights.
Instead, you opt for what they call a “journey” package.
Your journey includes a credit to use at the spa. Depending on which package you choose this can either be $250 or $500 per day to use on different spa treatments.
Besides that, all packages include all meals at the Hummingbird restaurant, your room, and access to all Mii Amo amenities including the pool, steam room, sauna, spa pool, gym, and different classes that are available like yoga, pilates, guided hikes, and even stargazing.
The price also includes taxes and gratuities, so you don’t have to worry about tipping all of the incredible staff that are helping to make your stay so wonderful.
I spent many mornings at Mii Amo with a fresh juice and the sun on my face to help me wake up.
Why is it the Best Resort in Sedona?
Located in the heart of Boynton Canyon, Mii Amo is one of the best resorts in Sedona for those that want to really connect with the power and energy of this incredible city.
The red rocks that surround the canyon are made up of Iron and Quartz, two types of rock which are known for the energy they emit. And when they are found together, they create what is known as a vortex or a flow of energy, usually in a circular motion.
Boynton Canyon is the largest concentration of this energy in all of Sedona and there are only two resorts located here, Mii Amo and Enchantments.
Both resorts are owned by the same company and if you stay at Enchantments, you can book spa treatments at Mii Amo. You can also dine at the Hummingbird Restaurant. However, you pay extra for these perks on top of what you are already paying to stay at Enchantment.
You will absolutely get the same level of service at both resorts and you will be able to enjoy the power and beauty of Boynton Canyon at both.
Mii Amo has everything you need right on site, why stay elsewhere when you can walk from your room to the spa in your robe and slippers. They even encourage you to relax enough to head to the restaurant in your robe, too!
Mii Amo’s Restaurant, Hummingbird, is an exceptional place to eat at any time of day.
The Restaurant
One of the reasons I usually shy away from staying at all-inclusive resorts, especially in places like Mexico or Italy or Spain is because I want to be able to get off the resorts and eat all of the delicious local food.
At Mii Amo, the food doesn’t get much more local. Much of it is grown in the chef’s garden and the rest is sourced as locally as possible.
There is one main restaurant on site called Hummingbird and there is also a juice and wine bar located to the side where you can grab juices, smoothies, coffee, tea or other drinks throughout the day.
The quality of the food here is not your average hotel restaurant. It is a high-quality dining experience in its own right and attracts visitors to Sedona who aren’t even staying at the hotel.
Whether you want fluffy pancakes with homemade lemon curd in the morning or a perfectly cooked lamb chop at night. I ate some of the best meals I’ve ever had in the US at this restaurant.
They are open from 6am and the last service for dinner is at 8:45pm, but you can still order room service until 11pm.
As a journey guest, you can have meals in the restaurant, outside on the patio, next to the pool, in the living room area, or back in your room. You can even get it to-go and take it with you on a picnic lunch to Grasshopper Point or the nearby Slide Rock State Park.
Some of my personal favorites are the smoothies (the avocolada was ordered often!), the roasted carrot hummus, the steak kebab, the Japanese sweet potato, all of their salads, and the lamb chops. The ube panna cotta was a dessert I will remember for a long, long time.
The dishes at Hummingbird are creative, beautifully presented, and insanely delicious.
The Spa Services
The services at Mii Amo can feel endless as you try to choose a few that will round out your journey here.
You can opt for more traditional options like deep tissue massages and facials, but I urge you to sample some of the other slightly more unique-to-Sedona options and one or two that are specifically unique to Mii Amo.
A few that I loved include the chakra massage which helped to clear my chakras as well as the knots in my neck and shoulders. I also loved the sound bath, a beautifully relaxing experience that I hope to be able to have again.
You can try things like Reiki, Astrology chart readings, a CBD oil massage, or an energy cleansing.
The spa services are located upstairs in the main building of the resort. The waiting area is both serene and stunning with huge windows that look out into the canyon. There is fruit, water, tea, and calming music.
You also have full access whenever you would like to the sauna, steam room, and spa pool inside the locker rooms (they are separate for men and women).

The sound bath experience was a memorable one and also included a few Oracle cards to help set intentions for the meditation.
The Rooms
There are two types of rooms at Mii Amo, casitas and suites.
Casitas are the regular rooms which are offered as king or double queen. If you are traveling with a friend, the double queen is perfect with two huge comfortable beds.
The casitas all have full bathrooms, a seating area, and an outdoor patio with additional seating and stunning canyon views.
The suites are the larger options. You can choose from a one bedroom or two bedroom suite and from a range of sizes and luxury offerings. All of the suites have a separate living area to the bedrooms and a large outdoor patio area.
These are great options for friends or couples who want to spread out a little bit more.
The views from the spa waiting room are enough to make you want to wait for spa appointments all day long.
The Pool & Other Amenities
There are several pools at Mii Amo as well as tons of other amenities to help you relax and unwind.
In the main pool area, which is located outside of the hotel’s restaurant to the left of the property, you will find a large swimming pool as well as a smaller plunge pool.
Around this pool area there are tons of lounge chairs. Some are tucked away in the shade and others have umbrellas available so you can choose whether you want to roast in that Arizona sun or stay in the shade.
You can lay out here and order drinks and food and relax all day long (I may have done that quite a lot!).
There is an additional pool which is only for the journey guests at Mii Amo and this is located upstairs near the waiting area in the spa.
Head outside through the doors on the left to find yourself in a little desert oasis. There is a plunge pool and plenty of chairs to relax in either the sun or shade. If you want a very quiet place to relax by the water at Mii Amo, this is the place to do it.
In addition to the pools and the spa, there is a large living room with a cozy sunken couch where you can relax or have a snack and some tea.
There is a gym which has plenty of weights and machines to use and is available to you throughout your stay.
There are exercise and meditation classes in a separate room that are available throughout your stay.
And my favorite place, the Crystal Grotto, is a small but powerful meditation space located near the entrance of the hotel.
The drinks at Mii Amo were never ending – from tea and coffee to smoothies and fresh juices, wine, beer, cocktails and all of it is delicious.
Mii Amo Sedona Location
One of the best things about this hotel is its fabulous location.
As I mentioned above, Mii Amo is located right in the heart of Boynton Canyon.
This is the ideal location if you want to escape the crowds and stay somewhere peaceful. At night, it can feel like you have the canyon all to yourself.
If you are looking for a hotel that is within walking distance to the town, this isn’t the best option. You are about 15 minutes drive from downtown Sedona and all of the shopping and restaurants that are around there.
However, if you came to Sedona to relax and to go hiking, this is a perfect location.
The Boynton Canyon trail is right behind the hotel. You can simply walk through the parking lot where you’ll find a pedestrian gate that leads directly to the Boynton Canyon trail. It’s a 7.2 mile out-and-back trail, but you are coming into it almost from the middle, so you can choose which direction you want to head in.
You can also hop into the car and be at some of the most famous trailheads within 10 minutes or less. You are close to Devil’s Bridge, Fay Canyon Trail, and Bear Mountain Trail to name just a few.
Sedona isn’t a large place, so if you rent a car you can get easily from Mii Amo to Slide Rock State Park on the complete other side of the city in about 30 minutes.
The views from all over the property remind you that you are in the heart of Boynton Canyon.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. It is truly one of the most magical experiences I have ever had at a hotel.
From the fantastic service to the incredible food, the views, the spa services, and the comfortable beds that allowed me to sleep a whopping nine hours per night. This place is the sort of hotel you return to again and again.
